Fall treats and Madison's class party

Last Thursday was Madison's Fall Party at school.  I wanted her to give something to all of her friends, and I didn't want to give a bunch of candy.  Sooooo, We bought the 6 pack of caramel dipping cups and Granny Smith apples.  I packaged them up with some cellophane wrap and cute ribbon.  The teacher got a large tub of caramel and several apples.  What do ya think? I think I will use this idea again!

For her friends:

For her teacher:

They had fun at their party.  We had Chick-fil-a nuggets, chips, cookies and juice.  Then, I read them a cute book about picking your favorite pumpkin and carving it, just as God picked us and made us perfect. Then, we did a simple craft.  They each got a foam pumpkin and a set of foam eyes, nose & mouth to decorate it.

Madison's class (minus 1):

Did you notice Madison's orange pants in the pic above?  I made those! That is going to be another post as soon as I can locate the pics on this computer. I am not sure what happened to them after I put them in iphoto.  They seem to have disappeared. My husband says they are probably on the external hard drive.

Check out the pumpkin that Madison and I carved.  Daddy was out of town on business, so we had to do it alone! Daddy would have done something much more elaborate, but we were proud of our creation!

Felt Pumpkin Bag

I am in the mood for fall! Today I made a felt pumpkin bag for my little girl. It is really simple. The most time consuming part was the blanket stitch that I did around all of the edges. (If you don't know how to do a blanket stitch, there are great videos on YouTube.) To do this project you need the following materials:

2 - 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of orange felt
1 - 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of green felt
Green and orange thread (I used cross stitch thread.)
Needle
Pattern
